February 2012 Cross Country Run
The second Hope Rising Cross Country run was held at the Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre in Hampshire on Saturday 18th February 2012.
Saturday started cold and very windy, but on a positive note, the rain held off until well after the race so fortunately the track was not too wet, and had just enough patches of mud to negotiate. The sun appeared a few times and made this a very attractive and scenic run.
An enthusiastic and eager group of 98 runners started the run at 11am and clocked some very good times.
Feedback from the runners has been very positive. Most found the course challenging, though fun to run and said they would return. They appreciated the clear track directions and the well-marshalled course. The run was well organised and each runner received a medal as a memento and all winners received prizes. Catering and massages were also available.
We would like to thank Alton Sports, Up and Running, and USN, for their donations.
Many thanks also to Chris Potter and his team who were an invaluable support. Above all, we thank Avon Tyrrell for a very good venue.
